The wiki editors have implemented a new rule that means your rights will be removed after 30 days of inactivity. You will not have your rights removed until 1st August, but if you want to keep them, you need to act soon.
If you return you may get your role back, but this is not guaranteed.
I saw you trying to remove the Introduction heading in level pages! But is it fine to do so. Because there are already hundreds of pages in this format. And even the Template:LevelStub (which is used for making new level pages) used this format, I don't think we should remove the heading. Bolding the first word of the article is fine though.
This is just a suggestion, so please don't feel offended. :)
I am aware of how many level pages there are that have the Introduction section, but I think it's necessary to remove it. (I'm taking on this task willingly; I don't expect anyone else to help if they don't want to.) Having an Introduction heading only pushes the essential, most basic information lower on the page, while removing it brings to more immediate notice, next to the info box picture. Also, just about every other wiki I've seen does not have Introduction headings. Besides, they always seemed unprofessional, redundant, and unecessary in my mind. (Look at the character or some of the tunnel pages; they're some of the most polished pages on the wiki, and they do not have Introduction headings.)
Also, as I'm going through the all the level pages, I'm correcting small errors as well, particularily gramatical mistakes or long-winded paragraphs that can be summarised or removed. This, along with removing the Introduction headings, is something that has needed to be done for a while, and will make the level pages look much more polished and uniform in the end.
To summarise all that; thank you for the advice, but I know what I'm getting into with this.
No offence taken, but I hope you understand my reasoning now. :)
Alright, though be careful so you don't bold words like "Level 1" throughout the article. And if you want to change the formatting, don't forget to edit the part which shows the formatting of pages in Guidelines.
You may even need to contact Player 03 so the LevelStub template will be changed in case of the new level pages are using the old format, and I think you should post a blog post or something, or other editors may revert your changes.
Hi, yes, welcome! Although I see you've been here for a while... Still, it feels strange to be the one being welcomed now, so I'll say it anyways. I can also see that you've made some pretty impressive contributions to the wiki, so thank you for all the work you've done around here while I was gone.
As for your question... If you saw my "guess I'm an admin..." comment on Player 03's wall, you'll know that I am quite young. When I started, I was even younger, but I've never liked putting a lot of personal information online anyway. Still, I will admit that my user page has been looking rather bland... as in empty. A bit of personalization wouldn't hurt, and I do agree that some has been in order for a long time. I suppose now's as good of a time as any. Perhaps a profile picture would be a good place to start...
Thank you for this little reminder, as it was something I wanted to do even before I took a break!
Yeah, I kinda did, but it's good to be back! Also, I found your hidden place... I love little secrets like that, and I can't belive it took me this long to find it. (Although, given my inactivity, it's not really surprising.)
Yeah, I've started to realize that as I've been seeing more and more people's message walls around here. When I first started editing on the wiki though, and there were less than 10 active editors, I just assumed I was the youngest. Guess that's not the case any more! But that is why I plan on making a more personal icon soon, so it's mostly just a placeholder for now.
This happens all the time on a wiki. Wikis are a collaboration between many different editors, all working to make the best articles they can, and sometimes that means deleting stuff. Instead of taking this personally, start a discussion and let the community weigh in.
Specifically, you should go to the Child and Duplicator articles, and leave comments there explaining what you added, where you got it from, and why it's important. That way, anyone passing by will be able to respond, and you can get advice/support for restoring the edits.
For the record, Aquastar didn't delete your edits because the information was bad or because she's an evil dictator or anything. She deleted them because you put them in the wrong place. If you put them somewhere more appropriate, she'd leave them alone.
I'm being deliberately vague here, so that Aquastar (or the community) can explain the details. Just ask politely, ok?
The information that you added to the Child's and Duplicator's pages was in the wrong section. The Infinite Mode Trivia section is only for the in-game tidbits that you see after falling in infinite mode. What you added was not technically incorrect, just not directly from the game. Something like that would be better in the Other Trivia section. However, that information is already in the Story page, and in the case of the Child, it could be considered minor spoilers and the character pages should be spoiler-free. The main problem is just that the Infinite Mode Trivia should be word for word from the game.
I didn't mean to upset you by deleting your edits, and I certianly didn't think that I had priority because I've been editing longer. Honestly, this happens much more frequently on larger wikis. I belive they usually have people called patrollers, who basically read all the edits, determine if they're informative or necessary, and delete it if they're not. The good thing is that you're trying, please keep helping out. This wiki is very small, so every active editor helps!
Instead of posting screenshots from the game, please summarize each cutscene using text. Currently, you have to zoom in on each image in turn, which is way less convenient than reading a text summary. (Occasional images are still fine, though.)
