Ah, welcome back! It's been a while, hasn't it? As per tradition, with every Chapter comes some author's notes and concepts. There's not much, but I think it'll give you some inside info on the characters among other things.

Intermission 2[]

Firstly, there's Intermission 2, uploaded all the way back in August. I think around this point I started to think about the bigger story as well as make some changes to my original plans. Who stars in this Intermission anyway? Hmm, let's start with our good pal, Bursar.

Bursar[]

BursarConcept

Concept art of Bursar. Edited to avoid spoilers. Mz! is an old signature of mine.

Now, what is a "bursar" exactly? Simply put, it's the treasurer for a college or university. Does this mean Bursar is the treasurer of his entire college? Uh, no, he couldn't handle that much pressure. He is the treasurer of his Art club, though. His job is to manage the funds of the club so they can buy supplies for future projects. He's not particularly responsible with it, however. How does he get away with spending their funds on the stuff he wants? We may never know.

While he's great at not being caught spending money that isn't his, he is notorious for getting himself in other kinds of trouble that usually results in profit or bust.

Bursar was originally going to be a bad guy at some point. The only change from then to now was the color of his headband and Hammerspace. The story was moving elsewhere, so I needed him to be a main character.

What is the deal with that headband anyway? Well, the headband design choice is based on Rohan Kishibe from the manga and anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The reason Bursar has it in canon is that he once went on a trip to the eastern side of the Planet. The headband was the only souvenir he could afford at the time. Ever since then, he's kept it on. He says it "inspires him" to take risks when it comes to art.

Compared to the characters in Run 3, his personality is a mixture of Skater and Gentleman. The inspiration behind the personality as a whole is the "Best Friend" trope of characters in the Persona series. The main example is Masao Inaba. Bursar wants to be a ladies' man, but he won't put anything before his friends.

Lyrist[]

Ah, now there's Lyrist. To be honest, there's not much to say that hasn't already been said in the first Author's Notes. For now, he's the most normal looking character out of the bunch, but looks aren't everything you know.

His personality is based on the protagonists of the Persona series. They're mostly silent, but will probably not hesitate to give a rather snarky response. Girls just can't resist him.

Troll[]

Troll is a little oddball that we meet in Intermission 2. She works as a waitress of the Shack when we first meet her. She decides to tag along with Lyrist and Bursar on their quest to find something interesting to do.

It's not a surprise she's literally based on Homestuck trolls. She was originally going to be male to be quite similar to the character Tavros in every way, but I opted for making her female. Instead of being awkward around others, she's energetic and happy to meet people. A little on the dense side, however.

The Shack[]

Now, the main attraction of Intermission 2. It's THE SHACK! What is the Shack based on? It's based on the B-52s' song titled "Love Shack". Like Chapter 2 and West End Girls, lyrics from the song make an appearance all over. Can you find them all?

The Shack is divided into 3 parts: The Family Area for kids and parents, The Teen Area for teenagers on their own, and the Luv Shack for adults. Don't worry, each party place is moderated to make sure no fishy business happens!

Glitter is prominent throughout the Shack. It's unknown why. Regulars are a very crafty bunch.

Chapter 3[]

We're now in Chapter 3, which released a couple of weeks ago. I thought I had a lot to talk about Intermission 2, but concepts aren't all that abundant anymore since this is when I sort of wing it. Not entirely, however. There is some planning involved, but it's not much.

Brawn[]

Brawn is a strong and gutsy floralien who runs the Hammerspace training facility under the Gauntlet. As Enigma states: "she's not all brawn, she has a little brains in her, too". I don't think I remember much about creating her other than the fact that I wanted to create a character that contrasts from Enigma's usual style. Instead of fast and smooth, Brawn's fast and rough. She has a number of achievements under her belt. Ever since she seemed to hit the limit of how strong she could get, she decided to specialize in technology and the newfound Hammerspace that invaded the Planet. She never wants to feel weak so that she can protect those who are close to her.

Spirit[]

Spirit's a pretty outlandish character I've made similarly to Enigma and Troll. His design as stated at some point is inspired by Yacker from Sonic Colors, albeit with a number of changes. His personality is supposed to parallel the Angel's. The spirits of the dead are generally irritable at times, however as mentioned elsewhere, they have a soft spot for "cute" things. Just be silent every time you want to witness that.

The Witch Doctor[]

Named after the infamous song "Witch Doctor" by Cartoons, it's... the Witch Doctor! She was originally planned to appear in Intermission 2, but I didn't want an Intermission to be so long.

"Why in the world does she have a big nose? She looks ugly!" you might say. Well, I planned on making her a silly character from the get-go. What better way to do that than to give her a big nose? Eh?

In canon, she was once a beautiful woman. How she got the big nose is thought to be an unfortunate case of spirit shapeshifting. It only occurs once a year, so if she wants to remove it, she has to wait a whole year before it changes again. Does this work out for her after so long? Uh, no.

The Witch Doctor's Assistant[]

The assistant of the Witch Doctor is a floralien who stumbled upon the depths of the Shack. Since then, she's been cursed by the Witch Doctor to forever serve her. She doesn't seem to really mind, though. If anything, it allows her to do something interesting with her life since she ran away from home. The strange looking pompadour and burrito shoes are a result of the Witch Doctor's tests.

Headhunter[]

At the end of Chapter 3, Enigma gives Headhunter the codename "Genesis". This is based on the band of the same name.

Intermission 3[]

What awaits us in the future? Well, we'll be taking a look into the world of showbiz.
